Gregor's Room

After reading The Metamorphosis by Kafka, I visualized the story and created my own version of how I saw the story through the use of color, texture, and design.  I created all of the objects in this piece solely from copy paper and water. Colored ink was used to show color throughout my artwork. I decided to make the bed much larger than Gregor because the story stressed how hard it was for him to get out of bed. I purposefully made my chair too small for Gregor because the story said how his bug wings were getting in the way of doing tasks like even sitting down. I intertwined strips of cut paper and made a multi-colored quilt for Gregor's bed. Overall, I saw this story as full of color and animated life.
